Negotiate Repairs / Concessions
Negotiate Repairs / Concessions
When the inspection uncovers issues, the Buyer’s next course of action is to negotiate remedies with the Seller.
If the Home Inspection reveals deficiencies:
- 1. Ask the Seller to make necessary repairs.
- 2. Request Seller concessions in lieu of repairs.
- 3. Negotiate a sales price reduction to offset repair costs.
- 4. Terminate contract if no agreement is reached (within the option period).
- 5. Accept property “as-is” and move forward with your home purchase.
Work closely with your Agent when negotiating repairs and/or concessions. Obtain professional estimates of repair costs and devise a strategy to achieve your desired outcome.
